Hand-Painted Wedding Stationery for Couples Across Australia
Your wedding stationery is the first thing your guests will hold — a small, considered object that sets the tone for everything that follows. At Claudia Vrkic Studio, every piece begins as an original artwork. Painted by hand. Drawn from the places, landscapes and stories that are uniquely yours. No templates, no stock illustrations, no suites pulled from a catalogue. Just original work, made specifically for your day.
Claudia is a contemporary artist with a formal painting background from the Australian National University and years of practice spanning watercolour, gouache, ink and digital art. She works with couples all over Australia — entirely remotely — to create wedding stationery that feels less like a product and more like a piece of art worth keeping long after the wedding day is over.
What's Included in a Wedding Stationery Suite
A full custom suite can cover everything from the first correspondence your guests receive to the last detail on the table. Claudia works with you to decide exactly which pieces make sense for your day and your budget. A complete suite can include:
Before the day
Invitation cards (single or double-sided, with envelopes)
Save the date cards
RSVP cards
Details and information inserts
Envelope addressing in a complementary script style
On the day
Order of ceremony booklets or folded cards
Individual or table menus
Seating charts and table plans
Place cards and name cards
Welcome signs and signage
Thank you cards
Not every couple needs everything on this list. Some want a full suite with cohesive artwork across every piece; others want a single stunning invitation that does the heavy lifting. Either way, the process starts with a conversation.
How It Works
Working with Claudia is a collaborative, unhurried process — designed to feel nothing like filling in an online form.
1. Get in touch Tell Claudia a little about your wedding: the date, the venue, the atmosphere you're going for, and which pieces you're interested in. She'll come back with a few questions and a custom quote.
2. Concept development Once you're ready to proceed, Claudia develops an initial creative direction based on your brief. This might draw from your venue and its surroundings, native Australian botanicals, the landscape of where you met or where you're getting married, or a personal story you want woven through the design. Nothing is off the table.
3. Original artwork, created by hand All artwork is created using analogue techniques — watercolour, gouache or ink — or a combination of hand-painted and digital. You'll receive previews at key stages and have the chance to give feedback before anything is finalised.
4. Print and delivery, anywhere in Australia Final artwork is prepared as high-resolution print-ready files and sent to a quality Australian printer. Finished pieces are delivered directly to you, wherever you are in the country.
Timelines: Most commissions require 6–10 weeks from confirmed booking to delivery. If your wedding is sooner, get in touch anyway — Claudia will be upfront about what's possible.
The Style
Claudia's creative practice is rooted in a deep attention to place. Extensive travels — across Australia and internationally — have built a visual language that is grounded, layered and genuinely personal. Her work is never generic, never mass-produced, and never the same twice.
Themes that appear frequently in Claudia's stationery work:
Native Australian botanicals — banksia, eucalyptus, waratah, kangaroo paw, wattle and coastal natives
Sense of place — the venue, the landscape, the environment where your story is set
Organic forms and natural palettes — earthy, considered colour that holds up over time
Fine-line illustration with a painterly quality — detailed enough to be interesting, confident enough to be beautiful
That said, Claudia is genuinely open to the creative conversation. If you have a different aesthetic in mind — modern and minimal, bold and graphic, romantic and floral — bring it. The process is built around your vision, not a pre-existing collection.
Why Hand-Painted Wedding Stationery?
There's no shortage of beautiful printed wedding stationery available in Australia. So why commission something hand-painted?
Because a hand-painted invitation is an original artwork that happens to be printed. The brushwork, the colour, the composition — all of it is created specifically for your wedding and will never appear in anyone else's suite. It's the difference between a venue illustration that could be anywhere and one that is unmistakably your venue, painted with the detail and care of someone who studied it.
Many couples frame pieces from their stationery suite after the wedding. It becomes part of the home — a lasting record of the day in a way that a printed photograph rarely is.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Every commission is quoted individually, based on the number of pieces, the complexity of the artwork, and the print quantity required. As a general guide, custom suites start from $1000. Claudia provides a detailed, itemised quote after your initial enquiry — there are no surprise costs.
-
Not at all. Claudia works with couples all over Australia, completely remotely. The entire process — brief, concept, artwork approval and delivery — is handled online and via email. Finished pieces are shipped directly to your door.
-
The earlier the better — particularly for spring and autumn weddings when demand is highest. Claudia recommends making contact at least 4–6 months before your wedding date. That said, if your timeline is tighter, it's always worth reaching out to check availability.
-
Bring everything you have. Mood boards, Pinterest links, venue photos, fabric swatches, a description of the feeling you're after — the more context Claudia has, the better the work will be. There's no such thing as too much reference material.
-
Yes. Claudia can supply high-resolution print-ready files so you can manage printing independently, or she can coordinate printing and deliver finished pieces directly to you. Both options are available.

Online stationery studios — even good ones — work from templates. What you receive is a version of something that already exists. With Claudia, the artwork is created from scratch for your wedding. It won't appear in anyone else's suite, it won't be part of a seasonal collection next year, and it won't look like a thousand other invitations in people's letterboxes this spring.
